Job Descriptions Senior Civil Engineer Responsibilities • Developing and/or reviewing construction sequencing, design plans and specifications, and permit applications for civil projects • Project Management • Leading technical discussions with regulators and clients, as well as public meetings • Marketing of professional services, proposal writing, cost estimating, and project scheduling • Technical writing for project documents, as well as review of technical writing performed by junior engineers • Providing technical guidance and mentoring for junior engineers in all phases of their development and project work Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (MS preferred) • Registered as a Professional Engineer • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong technical background and experience with: • the evaluation and design of civil projects • design software such as AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil • MS Office and project management • Candidates with 10 to 20 years experience preferred • Design of roads, earthwork projects, dredging, storm drainage and flood control experience desired • Demonstrated experience with hydraulics, hydrology, natural channel design, fish passage, civil structures, geotechnical analysis/design, survey and bathymetry, GIS and natural sciences is a plus Senior Civil/Structural Engineer Responsibilities • Developing and/or reviewing construction sequencing, design plans and specifications, and permit applications • Applying an understanding of regulatory processes including federal, state, and local permitting requirements for projects involving dams, streams, stormwater, hydro plants, and wetlands • Leading technical discussions with regulators and clients, as well as public meetings • Marketing professional services, writing proposals, estimating costs, and scheduling projects • Technical writing for project documents and journals/conferences, as well as review of technical writing performed by junior engineers • Providing technical guidance and mentoring for junior engineers in all phases of their development and project work Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (MS preferred) • Registered as a Professional Engineer • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong technical background and experience with: • evaluation and design of hydraulic structures • design/analysis software (AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, etc.) • MS Office and project management • 7 to 20 years of experience preferred • Dam safety, hydropower, flood control, and/or fish passage experience desired • Demonstrated experience with geotechnical analysis/design, hydraulics, hydrology, sedimentation, natural channel design, survey and bathymetry, GIS, or natural sciences a plus Company Description: Gomez and Sullivan Engineers, P.C. was established in 1993, and has offices located in Utica and Williamsville, NY, and Weare, NH.
