Job Description: Job Summary:

Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing a wide array of WBL planning, modeling, design, and construction projects such as: water/wastewater treatment systems, including conventional and advanced process train plants; distribution systems, including conveyance and network piping, pump stations, storage tanks, and reservoirs; and collection systems, including interceptor, network and outfall piping, pump stations, and equalization facilities.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:
Qualified candidates will, at a minimum, have the following capabilities and the ability to perform the following routine functions:
• Must be technically competent in all aspects of water and wastewater engineering including advanced and conventional water/wastewater treatment facilities, wastewater collection and water distributions systems, and pumping facilities.
• Must be able to coordinate with the Design Center to manage a team of multi-disciplined (civil, environmental, structural, mechanical, electrical, and I&C) project engineers, design engineers, and CAD Technicians in the development of engineering reports and detailed construction plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects and clients at one time.
• Must be able to use technical expertise to perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions for water and wastewater projects.
• Must be able to prepare and manage project design budgets including the development of detailed project instructions, scope of work, level of effort, and associated man-hour estimates.
• Must be able to develop written engineering service contracts for internal and external clients.
• Must keep accurate and up to date project accounting on a variety of design projects.
• Must conduct written and oral project reporting for internal staff and external clients. Reporting shall include project design status, upcoming milestones, project accounting, percent completes, progress reports, etc.
• Must be capable of building and mentoring a motivated and diverse WBL Regional team for cost effective project execution.
• Must be capable of leading project workshops with internal staff and external client.
• Must be capable of performing a variety of public speaking activities including addressing client boards, councils, commissions, and governing bodies, as well as the ability to make technical presentations at professional trade shows and conferences.
• Must be able to assist with the development of marketing proposals and presentations, as well as represent the firm in developing prospective clients.
Minimum Requirements:

Senior Project Manager must hold a Bachelors degree in civil or environmental engineering from an accredited program. Masters degree in civil or environmental engineering preferred. Candidates must be a registered professional engineer (PE). Candidates must have the ability to obtain PE registration in all applicable states of practice. Candidates must be an active member of AWWA and WEF. Candidates will have 15+ years of similar technical experience with 5 or more years experience in project/team leadership.

Essential Mental Functions:

Senior Project Manager must have a strong knowledge base of engineering principals including, hydraulics, hydrology, water chemistry, organic chemistry, micro-biology, conventional and advanced process technologies and associated equipment systems. Candidates must have a basic understanding of the multi-discipline practices (i.e. environmental, surveying, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control) required for the implementation of water/wastewater facilities capital improvements. Candidates must have a strong understanding of the most current regulations associated with the Safe Drinking Water Act and Clean Water Act. Candidates must have strong communications skills as required to manage project teams and maintain client relationships. English is required as primary language. Candidates must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook. A working knowledge of project scheduling and workload leveling software tools is required. A command understanding of project and team performance metrics such as profit, margin, loss, utilization, overhead, burden, direct and indirect expenses, and labor multipliers is required.

Essential Physical Functions:

Some travel required. Some light field work will be required for site assessment of project locations and to provide support during construction.
