Job Description: Role Summary/Purpose
The Facility Engineering Leader demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, be involved in long-term planning, contribute to the overall strategy, and manage complex issues within functional areas area of expertise.

Essential Responsibilities
# Responsible for leading the Power Plant detailed design and GA/layout optimization, including: Plant general layout configuration optimization, main equipment layout (shaft line, HRSG, GSU, and Condenser) and other plant arrangement principles (ie. basement or no basement, pits, air inlet position lateral / vertical, main building accesses, and laydown in/out building)
# Plant main pipe routings and cable races
# Mechanical & Electrical interconnect optimization
# Plant building size, lifting means, ventilation, heating
# Operability & maintainability requirements, liaise/coordinate with the service experts to define the maintenance scenario (dismantling, lay down, rotor removal, and special tools)
# Design to cost & safety / environmental considerations
# Leverage available software to assess/evaluate plant layout alternatives
# Drive consistent plant “Look & Feel”
# Worke closely with AEs & EPCs acceptance & implementation of Plant GA

Qualifications/Requirements
# Advanced degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
# At least 10 years of engineering experience
# Six Sigma Green Belt (GE employees only)ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
# Ability and willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time

# Demonstrated leadership skills with prior success leading and influencing functional teams across organization; effective coaching expertise, ability to interact and function cooperatively with a broad range of individuals, multi-functional teams and customers
