Company Description: Coakley & Williams is a privately owned hotel management firm with roots in the construction industry dating back to 1926. In 1971, the firm entered a new and prosperous era with the development and construction of its first hotel, The Ramada Hotel in Lanham, Maryland, which it owned and operated until its sale in 1993.

As the company's hotel operations thrived, Coakley & Williams went on to develop, build, own, and operate an expansive portfolio of hotels. These hotels ran the gamut from affordable accommodations to luxury properties. Coakley & Williams became intimately familiar with the operation of the independent hotel, as well as the franchise business model, including Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Crowne Plaza, Hampton Inn, Radisson, Wingate Inn, Quality Suites, Comfort Inn, Ramada Hotel, Days Inn, Best Western, Howard Johnson, and EconoLodge.

In 1987, Coakley & Williams, Inc. began pursuing management contracts, using the knowledge and experience gained from managing its own hotels. Since that time, the company has demonstrated its value as a successful partner for the management of a variety of hotel types and an expert proprietor of complex amenities, including franchise restaurants (such as Houlihan’s and Damon’s), water parks, caverns, attractions, large scale gift shops, restaurants, lounges, miniature golf, and first-class banquet facilities.

In 1996, after 27 years of expertise and involvement in all phases of the company, Gary Williams purchased the Hotel Division of Coakley & Williams, Inc. and became the sole stockholder and President of Coakley & Williams Hotel Management Company.
