Job Description: |
As an Chief Estimator, you will:
- Reviews proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Prepares discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
- Maintains files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
- Supports other department personnel as required, may include preparing estimates in other disciplines.
- Reviews design options and recommends best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
- Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
- Requires minimum supervision when estimating items in own discipline.
- May independently estimate a medium to large sized project.
- Must be HCSS proficient or proficient within a 12 month period.
- Field and construction management experience would be an asset.
