Our National Security Global Business Area is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer. This position is located in Frederick, Maryland. The position will work within the BEST Scientific and Technical Support Group which specializes in client support for environmental engineering, safety, and industrial hygiene programs. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. A full benefits package will be provided. Relocation support is not available. POSITION SUMMARY The purpose of this position is to provide clients, primarily DoD and federal agencies, with effective environmental services, safety assessments, and industrial hygiene support. Support areas include, but are not limited to: environmental surveys, safety and industrial hygiene assessments, preparation of technical reports, and advising clients on policy and regulatory matters. A moderate level of travel will be required. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Project Management: Plan and manage projects from inception to completion utilizing good business practices and professional program management techniques. Provide quality products within task scope, resources and timelines in the technology areas of environmental, safety, and industrial hygiene. Business Development: Develop and execute new business opportunities. Develop marketing presentations focused on client needs and Battelle capabilities. Maintain relationships with key clients and coordinate activities with appropriate Battelle business development staff. Consultation and Coordination: Assist other Battelle elements provide quality products by developing an understanding of the greater Battelle capability, directing tasks for execution within Battelle to best support the client, and participating in matrixed staff support for project execution across the National Security business areas. Within established organizational framework, train, mentor and guide staff to execute projects from business development successes. - Serve as a senior consultant for environmental, safety and industrial hygiene policy and regulatory compliance. - Management and leadership of environmental, safety and industrial hygiene programs. Maybe required to perform surveys, equipment evaluations, process hazard analyses, operational risk management assessments, corrective actions and training to support selected projects. THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION: -Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in environmental engineering, safety or industrial hygiene or a related field -At least 10 years of experience in environmental sciences, safety, or industrial hygiene. -Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. -Strong written and verbal communication skills. -Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects while meeting technical requirements, budgets, and deadlines. THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION: -Master’s degree from an accredited university in environmental engineering, safety, or industrial hygiene.
