Director Communications and Business Development   Employer: Richard Meier & Partners Architects LLP Job Location: New York , NY Cash Compensation: Industry Type: Architects Job Description: Richard Meier & Partners Architects is seeking a seasoned and highly motivated individual with demonstrated experience in the A/E/C realm to assume the role of Director of Communications and Business Development based in the New York office. Working closely with the principal and the firm’s partners, the Director will be responsible for the firm’s communications, marketing and business development efforts. Responsibilities include: • Management of all responsibilities relating to press activity, new book publications, exhibitions, award submissions, and communications-related archiving. • Submission of completed project materials and announcements to architecture journals and mainstream press outlets • Conception and completion of substantive writing assignments related to existing and potential projects under tight deadlines (proposals, presentations, lectures, publications) • Preparation of Requests for Qualification, Requests for Information, Requests for Proposals and SF330 Forms • Pro-active acquisition and assessment of potential projects • Engagement and expansion of client relationships regionally and internationally, as well as establishment of presence in new geographic markets • Development and maintenance of client management and lead-tracking databases • Execution of market research and development of a strategic plan to position the firm accordingly • Development and maintenance of marketing materials and project brochures • Management of recently redesigned website, including selection and editing of content and direction of updates Requirements Qualifications include: • The ideal candidate will be a well-spoken, highly organized, and motivated individual capable of multi-tasking and working within an intense, collaborative, and creative environment. • Applicants should be thorough and detail-oriented, with proven ability to oversee multiple short and long-term efforts through to completion with minimal supervision. • Candidates should have 6+ years of industry experience within architecture business development realm, with strong industry contacts and an ability to understand and articulate RMP’s specific design sensibility. Proven ability to develop large pool of leads and market activity to position the firm for strategic opportunities desired. • The position requires editing and graphic design skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite 4 (In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash) Outstanding writing skills are essential in producing material for essays, lectures, speeches, marketing materials, press releases and new business proposals.
