Job Description: |
Responsibility
The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for penetrating and growing ALSTOM EMB sales for Turbine Controls, DCS, HMI, Diagnostics & Controls, AVR and Excitation system components for coal/steam, gas, nuclear and hydro turbines, for new sales and aftermarket. The position requires significant front-line sales efforts at both plant and utility level, development and maintenance of customer relationships, under the direction of the Managing Director, North America.
Principal focus will be on sale of:
* Turbine controls, DCS, HMI, Diagnostics & Controls, AVR, and excitations.
* Upgrade products for GE, Siemens, ABB & Westinghouse mature installations.
* Reconditioning services for OEMs and ALSTOM EMB components and turbines.
The position will work in close cooperation with ALSTOM Power Services Customer Service Managers and ALSTOM GPS sales force personnel to optimize results for ALSTOM EMB.
Essential Functions
* Meet quarterly and annual volume and as-sold margin objectives in territory for sales of ALSTOM EMB designed and manufactured OEM-compatible products while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
* Work cooperatively with other ALSTOM EMB and ALSTOM personnel and organizations to effectively develop, market and sell long-term service, maintenance and parts agreements to commercial customers in North America.
* Establish and grow relationships with key customer personnel.
* Represent ALSTOM EMB at industry meetings, trade shows and conferences within territory.
* Negotiate key contracts in cooperation with ALSTOM EMB Contracts and Legal personnel.
* Gather and analyze market feedback and competitive intelligence and participate in development of ALSTOM EMB commercial strategy, tactics, and sales plans.
* Direct maintenance of CRM database relating to assigned products and customers.
* Provide regular forecast, account plans, funnel updates, and activity reports to help anticipate market demand and plan budget
* Provide input to engineering on desirable and required product features and forecast volumes to manufacturing.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
*
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred) or business, and minimum ten (10) years relevant experience.
*
MBA desirable.
Experience
*
A minimum of five years of lead position in sales force in turbine controls aftermarket or DCS, HMI, Diagnostics & Controls, AVR, and excitation.
* Specific sales experience with GE, Siemens, ABB, Emerson, Honeywell, Foxboro, Invensys highly desired. Basler experience valued.
* Other experience in business development, marketing, or service of automation controls, turbines and components, including familiarity with the above products is desirable.
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required.
* Computer literacy is essential.
* Candidate must be a high-energy self-starter, who is highly motivated to "hunt", meet and exceed objectives
* 75% travel is required, and may include some travel abroad. Valid passport and driver's license required.
