Job Description: |
Plans, organizes, directs and controls the organization's plant operations, and emergency management functions. Improves organizational capabilities, optimizes processes, builds teams and directs management/staff development. Meets budgets, improves standards of performance, quality and safety. Manages, directs, monitors and supports the engineering and maintenance of facilities to provide safe, attractive and functional hospital/clinic environments as well as leads the emergency management functions for the organization. Consults with the Chief Administrative Officers at each operating unit on their facility needs as well as works in conjunction with the Director of Real Estate on major construction and renovation projections throughout the system. Interprets and ensures compliance with hospital policies, standards, Joint Commission, and various regulations including those from CMS, States of Oregon and Washington, and fire and life safety codes. This position serves as the safety officer for the organization.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or equivalent education/experience required. Masters Degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) preferred.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 8 years experience in healthcare plant operation, design and maintenance in addition to hospital facilities management, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and air conditioning experience required. Strong management, financial analysis and interpretation and project management skills required. Excellent customer relations and communication skills required. Contract-managed service experience preferred.
