Job Description: POSITION PURPOSE

This position directs and oversees the implementation of HR programs and processes to ensure the most effective utilization of human capital needed to maximize business performance in the designated region. The Regional HR Director reports to the division's HR Vice President and the Regional VP to ensure that direct HR support is provided to the regional business unit. The Regional HR Director influences the alignment of HR and Operations by engaging the RVP and DMs to gain acceptance for strategic HR decisions. Specifically, the Regional HR Director will ensure the successful execution of Organizational Effectiveness, Staffing, Learning, Performance Management, Employment Practices, and HR Communications for their region. The incumbent will do so by directing the daily activities of their Regional HR Managers, who will support 3-4 DMs (approximately 20 stores) each. Additionally, the Regional HR Director is responsible for the hiring, performance management and coaching and development or his/her staff of RHRMs.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

# Ensure the execution of HR programs/processes in the areas of: OE, Staffing, Performance Management, Learning, and Employment Practices

# Support the RVP by providing strategic HR guidance for the regional business unit and driving regional HR practices (e.g., HR Review, coaching/development, 360, etc.)

# Select, develop, coach, and motivate RHRMs (direct reports)

# Evaluate regional HR practices and trends to ensure best-in-class HR solutions are implemented throughout the regional business unit

# Partners with divisional and centralized (Atlanta SSC) HR partners (Staffing, OE, Talent Management, Employment Practices) to identify strategies to meet short and long-term HR needs in the region and division and provide ongoing feedback regarding HR processes

NATURE AND SCOPE

# Typically reports to Human Resources Vice President (HRVP) and Regional Vice President (RVP)

# Accountable for the management of a department or functional group through subordinate supervisors/managers and for all personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

# Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.

# Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

# Must be eighteen years of age.

EDUCATION REQUIRED

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
