Job Description: |
USP Structural Connectors, a subsidiary of Gibraltar Industries, Inc., is a leading metal fabricating manufacturer serving the residential and commercial building industries throughout the United States and Canada. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic team player with great communication skills to be a key member of our leadership team.
USP's product line encompasses over 2,000 finished part numbers: standard construction hardware for the light construction and retail/do-it-yourselfer markets, as well as a complete line of connectors for the engineered wood and plated truss industries. This full-range product line is backed up by an in-house engineering staff, technical assistance team and our quality customer service group.
USP products are produced and distributed in the United States and Canada. This exciting employment opportunity is located at the Corporate Office in Burnsville, MN.
Reporting to the President, the Director of Engineering will lead the company in the areas of product engineering, code compliance and approval, software development and support, and technical customer service support. This individual is also responsible for our quality assurance program and ISO 9001-2000 compliance.
Requirements
•Minimum ten years’ experience in structural engineering, preferably wood related. •BS Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field and current professional registration. •Experience in product design, new product development, and product testing. •Knowledge of software development as it relates to the construction industry •Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. •Experience working with key industry code agencies and technical groups.
