Job Description: Position Overview

Individuals within the Austin office perform Architecture and Engineering services and coordinate with the Dallas office to provide Construction and Program Management services.​ The chosen individual is responsible for all activities associated with the Aguirre Roden presence in Austin, Texas.​ These activities include marketing, soliciting new work, managing office activities, oversight of office design activities and performance of design work within the director’s area of expertise.​ Specific responsibilities are as follows:

Business Development – 40%​

· Develop the marketing and sales plan for the Austin Office.​

· Represents the firm to the public

· Directs, supervises, and/​or participates in the development of proposals, presentations and brochure materials and is responsible for maintaining the corporate brand.​

· Drives the development and closing of new business; identifies potential clients and desired scope of projects; collaborates with other business divisions.​

· Identifies opportunities to perform additional business with existing clients

· Develops and maintains a strong industry network; participates actively in industry and civic organizations to promote corporate citizenship

· Resolves problems with clients and monitors customer satisfaction


Project Management and Project Execution – 50%​



· Execute projects within his/​her personal discipline

· Manage and develop Architectural and Engineering project managers

· Contact clients periodically to obtain feedback about performance

· Maintain billable rate of at least 50%​

· Plan, staff and supervise all assigned department activities through appropriate delegation to department personnel.​


Administration/​Leadership – 10%​

· Foster and maintain the Aguirre Roden Credo and culture

· Recruit and train personnel

· Set the example in behavior, dress, community service and ethical activities

· Provide performance reviews and review career path with team members and provide guidance on same

· Supervise activities of the Business Manager as well as Architectural/​Engineering Design leaders.​

· Be responsible for the overall profitability of the Austin office

· Review financial performance on a job by job basis regularly


Requirements

· Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering

· Senior level Mechanical or Electrical Professional Engineer; registered in Texas or with the ability to be registered in Texas

· 10 +​ years of practical experience in the areas of commercial and institutional building design

· 5 - 7 years in the Austin area preferred

· Demonstrated by means of a proven track record the ability to lead and inspire others to succeed.​

· Sales and Marketing experience

· Advanced knowledge of the construction industry

· Demonstrated ability to lead team and get results through others

· Demonstrated ability to think ahead and plan over a three-to-five year time span

· Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written)

· Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

· Excellent “people” and “business” skills; strong customer service orientation; high energy level

· Excellent computer skills

· Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a wide cross section of individuals

· Commitment to company values
