Job Description: PURPOSE:
To manage and coordinate environmental compliance programs and projects for global MedImmune sites.Responsibilities include environmental capital program and project management, coordination with personnel to ensure regulatory compliance, and assist sites with regulatory agency submittals, permitting, and agreements.

REPORTS TO:
Associate Director, Environment, Health & Safety

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops, implements, revises and/or maintains cor porate environmental programs to address complianc e with applicable government regulations, and comp any standards and values. 2. Assists site managem ent and EHS staffs globally in maintaining complia nce with air quality, wastewater and storm water r ules, hazardous materials transportation, solid an d hazardous waste, and regulatory investigations. 3. Responsible for insuring compliance to all envi ronmental reporting requirements submitted in an a ccurate and timely fashion for all manufacturing, R&D facilities and corporate office locations. 4. Leads the efforts to drive improvements in enviro nmental compliance, permitting strategy, and cost containment/reductions, and regulatory agency rela tionships throughout the corporation. 5. Responsi ble for developing and implementing environmental training programs needed throughout the corporation. 6. Leads/participates in internal corporate com pliance investigations 7. Responsible for assisti ng sites in implementing environmental sustainabil ity initiatives, which focus on natural resource c onservation and waste reduction corporate-wide. 8 . Responsible for tracking environmental action pl ans with each facility to improve environmental compliance, addressing internal/external environment al audit findings, and communicating their status to management as needed. 9. Responsible for leadin g environmental due diligence activities associate d with acquisitions, divestitures, and mergers. 10. Builds cross-funcitonal relationships with key departments to foster support for continual envir onmental improvement.
