Job Description: An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Human Resources Director within Honeywell's Specialty Materials UOP subsidiary located in Des Plaines, IL.​ The position will serve as the HR leader and leadership team member for the Process Technology & Equipment organization, a $955M business within UOP.​ UOP is one of the 6 strategic business enterprises that make up the Specialty Materials business unit within Honeywell.​

Position Responsibilities:

* Provide direct HR leadership and support for the Commercial, Engineering, Services and Equipment organizations within PT&E.​ This includes supporting the relevant leaders and employees within their organizations globally in coordination with the SM regional HR organizations in EMEAI and APAC regions.​

* Manage talent acquisition, development, and retention within assigned client groups.​

* Drive change initiatives and organizational effectiveness in supported client groups.​

* Build credibility and effective working relationships with managers and employees supported; drive positive employee relations, including coaching of leaders.​

* Supervise one direct report an HR Generalist based in Des Plaines, IL.​

* Participate in special projects, as assigned, that support the strategic business and HR objectives of UOP and Specialty Materials.​






Basic Candidate Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Management, HR Management or related discipline.​

* Minimum of 10 years of Human Resource Generalist experience.​

* Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, E-Mail, PowerPoint) required.​

* US work authorization.​


Additional Candidate Qualifications:

* Advanced degree (MBA or MA/​MS) a strong plus.​

* Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems a plus (i.​e.​ PeopleSoft).​

* 6 Sigma Green belt Certification preferred.​

* Generalist background supporting Engineering/​Technical clients and/​or complex, global operations is considered ideal.​

* Strong ability to influence and coach leaders, including director and VP level clients.​

* Previous experience working in complex, global businesses that demonstrates an understanding of how to effectively manage/​balance cultural and organizational dynamic nuances.​

* Capability to quickly understand business objectives and partner effectively with business leaders to help meet them through HR solutions.​

* Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and tasks under tight timeframes.​

* Customer focused, both internally and externally.​

* Strategic business partner and change agent.​

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.​

* Strong employee relations skills, including ability to work in teams and drive positive employee relations.​

* Works effectively with Employees at all levels of the organization.​

* Drive to succeed, including Continuous Improvement focus.​

* Highest level of integrity and ability to keep information confidential.​

* Strong technical HR skills, including legal and process compliance.​
