Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.
Major Duties:
Serves as Chief, Plan Formulation Branch planning, directing, coordinating and executing the work which includes flood damage reduction, navigation, hurricane and storm damage reduction, ecosystem restoration, and flood plain management studies for civil works projects. Incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing the vision, mission, and direction of the organization by leading and managing an inclusive, diverse workforce that leverages the talents of each employee. Performs personnel management functions to guide, direct, and evaluate the technical efforts and work products produced by subordinates. Serves as the District consultant and advisor on all plan formulation matters related to water resources projects. Monitors available funding to assure adequacy for work remaining on specific investigations and assure most effective utilization of available manpower and resources. Prepares replies to high headquarters, other agencies and congressional inquiries.
