This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Procurement located at company headquarters in Fort Smith, Arkansas. You will be responsible for the strategic sourcing of commodities leading supplier selection, category management and review, quality improvement and cost reduction initiatives resulting in positive business outcomes. The commodity categories include pharmacy, facilities, construction and energy management. Responsibilities will include oversight for strategic sourcing of designated commodities; survey of the market to obtain competitive pricing; negotiation and review of all contracts regarding purchases and services for categories managed, conducting supplier negotiations, and developing working relationships which foster productive business rapport with all vendors and internal clients. You will direct all operational components as they pertain to the above position description and you will participate in the development of the strategic plan for specific categories of spend managed by the procurement department. Candidate Profile and Requirements: We seek a professional with a degree in Business or Economics. An MBA or similar graduate degree is highly desirable. C.P.M. certifications would be a plus. We seek a seasoned procurement professional with a minimum of 5 years experience in pharmaceutical and/or healthcare supply chain procurement. A track record in the post-acute care segment is desirable. We seek a well-rounded executive with a solid, demonstrable track record of accomplishments in strategic business development and contract negotiations. You must be a results-oriented, take-charge, hands-on, and mature leader. You should be highly professional, an excellent communicator, approachable, skilled at developing relationships, lead through example, possess uncompromising values, be committed to total quality, and passionate about the business.
