Job Description: Summary
Provides a wide range of HR process support to the department and company. Maintains and builds broad knowledge and skills in all HR disciplines to ensure successful recruitment, orientation, retention, and the training and development of employees. Effective interpretation of EEO & legal requirements and updating of HR policies and procedures. Reports to the VP Human Resources Corporate Services.
Essential Functions
Collaborates with key personnel to implement appropriate employee recruiting tools and processes, leads job profiling process, manages day to day recruitment activities including assessing functional department needs, selecting most effective media to advertise, posting opportunities, reviewing resume submissions, conducting interviews etc.
Teaches or coaches others to use company selection tools, methods, and processes, such as competency-based interviews and group interviews as applicable, etc.
Manages all aspects of company's hiring due diligence practices such as mandatory pre-employment substance abuse testing and background and credit checking as required.
Conducts new employee orientation. Ensures all necessary new hire paperwork is completed by payroll deadlines and follows up with supervisors to ensure engagement by the new employee.
Supports management and targeted client groups by serving as an employee relations specialist.
Manages organization development and performance management programs for targeted client groups, including assisting with administration of 360� feedback process and one-on-one coaching of management and employees to increase effectiveness.
Interprets HR policies and employment law for employees and managers, and coaches them to ensure consistency, effectiveness, and compliance.
Designs, implements, and facilitates assigned curriculums, training topics (technical and behavioral) and organization training initiatives. Ability to lead some training programs.
Conducts basic analyses of HR data; compiles data sets from HRIS and stand alone HR spreadsheets. Analyzes trends and reports on various HR metrics (retention, promotions, turnover, trends, training and development and overall employee engagement), etc.
Assists in the analysis of compensation practices and the performance management processes; makes recommendations for effective process improvements.
Assists compensation with the creation/evaluation of job positions, determining classification, exempt or non-exempt status, and salary.
Assists with the administration of Health/Welfare and Savings/Retirement benefit programs.
Manages the exit interview process: ensures terminated employees are interviewed, completes random verbal exit interviews, compiles monthly results for executive review, etc.
Reviews, executes and manages third party vendor contracts; ensures services rendered align.
Audits various documents and processes.

Required Qualifications:
Education, Experience and Knowledge
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field and 6-8 years of progressive HR Generalist experience required or 8-10 years of progressive, relevant Human Resources management experience. Master degree in Human Resources or a related field a plus. Human Resource certification preferred.
Able to build rapport with all levels of staff and can clearly put into words people's strengths and limitations and accurately project what people are likely to do in various situations.
Able and willing to face challenges and change with energy and composure while producing results and effectively managing conflict.
Excellent communication, organization, presentation, facilitation and conflict resolution skills are essential.
Able to relate well and create effective customer-focused relationships with all organization levels.
Able to organize people, tools, equipment, and other resources and orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish desired results.
Independently make decisions and recommendations under tight deadlines with composure, occasionally in the face of incomplete information.
Uses time effectively based on key priorities and to provide accurate information to people in a timely manner.
Capable of maintaining confidential information.
Basic grounding in statistics and knowledge of statistical packages such as SPSS is a plus.
Knowledgeable of HRIS systems (preferable in J.D. Edwards) and strong computer skills in spreadsheets, scanning, database and word processing/presentation communication software.
Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).
Acts in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
