Job Description: |
Role Summary/Purpose Oversees and manages the Architectural and Engineering design and construction administration effort within a specific area of a project. Also manages the resources, finances, and schedule of that project
# Essential Responsibilities Manages the Architecture and Engineering team during the design and construction phases of the project.
# Develops the design strategy to achieve quality deliverables within the schedule and on the budget. Creates the Facility and Architecture/Engineering sections of the project manuals during the design and construction phases.
# Ensures that the creative design intent is maintained during the preparation of design documents by project partners and other outside parties.
# Prepares the Architecture and Engineering schedule for facility design.
# Evaluates requirements for outside design resources, including: preparing requests for proposals, negotiating contracts, and managing the design process. Forecasts resource requirements for each phase of the contract, and develop a corresponding budget. Tracks Architecture and Engineering team expenditures. Prepares weekly progress reports on the status of the project and other outside Architecture and Engineering design efforts.
# Monitors construction in the field including identifying and resolving discrepancies between construction and drawings and/or design intent.
# Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established NBCU policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications:
# Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
# Minimum 7 Years design and construction/project management experience
# MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

# Desired Characteristics Preferred Supervisory and contract/vendor management experience
# Preferred Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
# Licensed Architect preferred.
# Knowledge of forecasting and budget allocation techniques. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Familiarity of international (expatriate assignments) is highly desirable.
