Job Description: |
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for providing overall direction and management oversight for Exelon Power's engineering organization. Overall technical responsibility and accountability for the safe and efficient operation of fossil and hydro assets.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
-Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the engineering functions and improvement of Exelon Power generating facilities.
-Provide leadership and guidance regarding development and implementation of short and long-term strategic initiatives. Sponsor innovative engineering strategies and state of the art technology to improve performance.
-Evaluate the effectiveness of current engineering practices and standards, and develop and manage the implementation of changes to improve the process.
-Provide leadership to the Engineering management team. Provide timely and accurate feedback regarding performance. Conduct a talent audit and develop a succession plan. Identify opportunities for growth and learning.
-Oversee the budget process. Assure adherence to the budget plan and balance cost containment with customer satisfaction and reliability.
-Assure the development and attainment of an environment that fosters a high performance culture and a learning organization.
-Provide leadership in promoting diversity.
-Work with Exelon Generation to incorporate assets under development into the operations portfolio.
-Perform all other duties as assigned.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS MINIMUM
-BS in engineering
-15+ years professional experience
-10+ years managerial experience
-Strong project management skills
-Leadership ability in a high performance culture with ability to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and foster culture change
-Proven high-level management skills in coaching and facilitating engineering competency
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal
-Strong computer skills, including knowledge and profiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products
-Knowledge and understanding of various market structures, and the ability to manage assets in both a merchant and portfolio style
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS PREFERRED
-Masters degree in business, engineering or related field.
