Requires a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, a P.E. license and a minimum of 7-10 years experience in all elements of civil design. Requires a thorough knowledge of Federal, State, and Northern California policies and procedures. Must be conversant in AutoCAD Civil 3D, demonstrate strong skills with use of various drainage software and exhibit the ability to develop project schedules, manage and monitor daily work tasks of staff, and coordinate the efforts of sub consultants. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare comprehensive engineering reports are a must.
Roles and Responsibilities:
-Supervise the work of Technicians and Design staff appointed to specific projects -Participate in the design of improvement plans, cost estimations, and details for a wide variety of project types ranging from $10K to $1M in consulting fees -Prepare roadway design plans, profiles, and geometric layout designs -Prepare plans, technical and general specifications, and estimates -Prepare detailed project scopes, fees, and work plans -Sub-consultant and client liaison, public involvement and outreach -Project correspondence and coordination of contract documents -Training and oversight of staff engineers and other technical staff members -Participation in field reviews and data collection -Establish design calculations and ensure improvement plans correspond to guidelines, codes, and other regulations -Establish and maintain relationships with clients in order to define their needs, explain technical information, and present project materials -Manage and develop a solid book of business of civil engineering clients -Assist the Marketing Department with the preparation of Request for Proposals including technical documents, client meetings, fee estimates, and designs -Manage a project from conception through project close-out including budget and schedule control -Perform all other related tasks that will help successfully complete the project
