Job Description: |
We are actively seeking a Director of Construction to contribute to our Power Systems Division team at SunWize.
* Plan, organize, direct, and report the on-site construction management activities directly related to photovoltaic projects.
* Oversee management of contractors and sub-contractors to ensure projects are in full conformance with plans, specifications, schedule, and budget.
* Supervise, coordinate and direct superintendent and managerial staff.
* Complete direction and development of large photovoltaic projects from initial stages to final commissioning.
* Identify means and methods to reduce costs, minimize risks, and increase speed of execution.
* Direct all commercial, industrial and residential projects and site development.
Requirements:
* At least 8-10 years of experience in construction management of multiple-discipline construction projects.
* Minimum of a 2 year Associates Degree; BA or BS degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management/Science preferred.
* Experience in PV system and basic working knowledge of power generation a plus.
* Knowledge in state and city codes, regulations, insurance issues, and permitting issues required.
* Experience leading a large team in PV installation.
* Ability to guide and lead complete construction efforts from estimating, management and scheduling skills.
* Strong customer service skills required.
* A personal commitment to a safe working environment.
* Strong computer application skills including MS Office Suite; Power Point, Excel and Word.Detail oriented, organized, with excellent communication skills.
* Periodic domestic and international travel may be required in support of sales and projects

SunWize Facilities
Our engineering and manufacturing activities are housed in a 30,000 square foot (2,787 sq. M.) facility in Kingston, New York (photo at left) that also serves as our corporate headquarters and main distribution facility. The building is designed for the indoor outfitting of large telecommunication shelters and walk-in enclosures, independent of weather conditions.
A comprehensive research and development laboratory facilitates new product development offering our customers more solutions to remote power problems. The Specialty Solar Module lab was specifically designed for our proprietary manufacturing process.
SunWize has recently acquired the former GenSelf Corporation, headquartered in Irvine, California. GenSelf is a leading provider of solar photovoltaic power systems to homes and businesses, and is the largest solar electric installer with offices in the Coachella Valley. The addition of GenSelf’s operations will create opportunities to further SunWize’s goal of making solar electricity a cost effective energy solution. They have been integrated into the SunWize Power Systems Division. |
