Job Description: The Director of Engineering for the Subsea Group will build and lead a multi-discipline engineering team focused on the development and delivery of subsea systems including Field Architecture, Subsea Hardware, Top Tension Riser System Hardware, Installation Engineering, and Offshore Support thereof. This team develops subsea field architecture alternatives, determines the optimal concept, specifies hardware requirements, provides cost analysis and progresses the recommended solutions through sanction, construction and installation.

Responsibilities:

· Accountable for all phases of planning and execution on major subsea engineering, procurement, construction and installation projects
· Serve as the unifying agent responsible for direction, coordination, and control of the overall project in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company
· Assist in establishing other Subsea engineering offices as needed to support the EPCI operations of the J.Ray McDermott Subsea OU on a global basis
· Evaluate workload and respond with resources accordingly; prepare Man-hour forecast
· Evaluate and hire personnel to staff the Subsea Engineering Group
· Work with business development to develop new customers and win new business; this includes assisting in the preparation of proposals
· Manage and coordinate multiple domestic and international projects, alliances, and joint ventures

The Subsea team will:

· Evaluate and determine subsea field development system alternatives and ensure mutual compatibility with topsides designs and operations
· Estimate costs and timing to bring the project to sanction
· Develop and maintain a project work plan for the design, procurement, manufacture, testing and installation of subsea systems
· Lead design, construction, installation and commissioning design and safety reviews
· Manage the subsea facilities system and suppliers through execution of the work plan
· Participate in HASZOPS, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and System Integration Testing (SIT)
· Interface with other GoM deepwater project teams to progress the standardization initiative where it adds value to projects

Qualifications:

· 20-years experience in subsea field development engineering or applicable disciplines, project management (skills, methodologies, processes) and business operations
· BS in one of the engineering sciences
· PE license strongly preferred
· Knowledge of concepts and systems for deepwater developments combined with a familiarity of the challenges of deepwater environments
· Must have good working knowledge of subsea systems, subsea hardware, subsea control systems (both subsea and topside facility portions), manifolds, PLETs, PLEM's, jumpers, umbilicals, pipelines, flowline connection systems, flow assurance, production deliverability, and risers
· Must have associated knowledge of various offshore production facilities such as fixed platforms and floating Spars, TLPs, SEMI's, FPSOs, etc.
· Understanding of new/state of the art subsea technologies/equipment such as subsea multi-phase meters, sand detection devices and chemical metering
· Experience in commissioning and starting up new subsea systems
· Familiarity with subsea equipment manufacturing processes and procedures
· Strong health, safety, environmental and regulatory compliance record
