Matanuska Electric Association, Inc., Alaska's oldest and second-largest electric cooperatives, is owned and operated by its members. MEA's mission is to excel at providing high quality, competitive energy-related services that benefit our member-owners. MEA had 52,310 customers as of year-end 2006, and combined revenues of more than $86.3 million. MEA continues to work at trimming controllable costs to the lowest possible level, consistent with maintaining high standards of safety and reliability. MEA is a locally-regulated transmission and distribution cooperative which serves approximately 38,000 customers with 46,000 active accounts.
