What is a Journeyman Carpenter job description?

Specific Job Functions:


* Fabricate temporary and permanent building additions, partitions, and furniture within the facilities and to accomplish all functional duties.

* Layout jobs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


* Two (2) years experience as a Carpenter, preferably in a hotel or industrial complex property.

* Some technical schooling in the art of carpentry preferred.

* Possess extensive knowledge of the carpentry trade plus repair and maintenance of the property.

* Perception and awareness of the facility's maintenance goals and policies.

* Ability to effectively communicate, both in person and over the phone when dealing with management, Employees, and guests.

* Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills.

* General knowledge of mathematical skills such as; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees.

* To access all areas of the facility and travel off property when representing the facility, withstand prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching to perform job duties.

* Must be able to climb ladders onto raised areas and be able to work from scaffolding, able to set-up and safely operate various types of woodworking machines and electrical hand tools, wear a tool belt weighing at least 30 lbs.

* Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to deal effectively with guests, management, and other employees while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.

* Must have specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

* High School diploma or equivalent is required.

* Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

* Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms.

* Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts

* Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to Excalibur standards.

* Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
