What is Construction Project Controls Manager Job Description ?

Prepare cost estimates for proposals and studies. Review completed estimates with Engineering, Project, and Sales department management, and participate in presentation to executive management.
Prepare preliminary schedules for inclusion in proposals and studies.
Develop and maintain project execution schedules.
Consult with, assist, and advise Engineering, Project, and Sales department management on matters involving costs or cost estimates on proposed sales, new developments, or active projects.
Develop monthly analysis of budget and schedule performance on active projects.
Maintain historical cost records from completed contracts as well as cost indices of material costs for use in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets.
Set up and maintain control budgets in ERP system.
Set up and maintain project cost control reports within ERP system.
Supervise project coordinators and schedulers in preparation of above reports.
Perform additional assignments as directed by VP-Operations, including travel and field assignments required to carry out assigned tasks.

BS Engineering degree preferred. Minimum of five years hands-on experience, preferably in a steel related environment, with at least two years of experience in estimating and project scheduling, including ability to understand plant components and their interdependencies. Excellent interpersonal, oral and writing skills. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally. Ability to move around project sites, including climbing on structures as required. Ability to interface with all levels of people. Knowledge of and experience with PC hardware/software equipment and programs.
