Construction Resignations and Terminations

Firing: How do I know when to let them go?

One of the most difficult issues facing construction executives of any construction employer, is knowing
when to fire an employee. So, what’s the right way to decide that enough
"second chances" have been given and it’s finally time to part ways?

*Have a long-established paper trail documenting an employee’s actions at work to back up what you’re about to decide.

*Be frank with the underperforming staff member. If someone is being fired, it shouldn’t come as a complete shock to them.

*Get their signature. If conditions continue to deteriorate, put them on formal probation.
