Why Did You Leave Your Last Construction Job?

I strongly suggest that the answer to this question should be prepared well in advance of any self-marketing, especially construction interviewing. It's also advisable to make sure that you're keeping the prospective construction employer's interests ahead of your own in the construction interview. Saying "I left to seek better opportunities" - which could sound self-serving - would be stated better as "I'm looking for a situation which will more completely utilize my skills and experience in...," which offers the opportunity to present those skills and experiences, rather than a defensive, over-explained reaction. With these kinds of questions, it's always best to keep it short and simple. When in doubt, try to turn everything around into demonstrating your knowledge and skill bases.
