Experience. Period. By the time you've hit 50, you've seen good projects and bad. You've known horrible construction employers and wonderful construction employers. Most important, you know how what you do influences the bottom line. Demonstrate the value of your experiences and your understanding of your construction employer's business and they will see you as a valuable asset.
