How to manage a misunderstanding and construction recruiter miscommunication with an offer?
Unless you have an employment letter signed by your construction employer, it becomes your word verses their word. It's always best to give your construction employer the benefit of the doubt in these conflict situations. It is better to keep the relationship strong and compromise than push your agenda too hard and alienate your construction manager. The lesson here is you always should get an offer in writing as a matter of record so there can be no misunderstanding down the road. Even an email from the employer can be acceptable. It's not necessary to have a formal document or contract in most situations, however the more complicated your pay package is, the more you will need an employment contract and formal written offer.
