Construction Career Managements

What to do about a displaced email and voice mail when an employee departs?

Unfortunately, the construction employer is the only one that can disable your voice mail and email, and the law tends to favor the construction employer when it comes to the ownership of any leads or company information. Personal information is your material but using company email or voice mail for personal matters typically gives the employer control over the ownership. The best solution is to contact your business and personal contacts and notify them of your address and phone changes. You can also call the tech department of your previous employer and request cancelation of your email and voice mail. Most construction companies will do this promptly, although they are not obligated to do so.
