What are the best words to use in a resume?


When writing your resume, do not make employers work at finding your achievements, skills and qualifications. Resumes are digitized these days and often employers evaluate resumes based on keyword searches. It’s important to add industry vernacular that might describe what you do in your resume so that when a keyword search is done your resume can be found.
This can easily be done in the resume summary statement. You might also read job ads that describe the position you are seeking and make sure you add those very words to your resume.
As an example, a position for Chief Estimator may look for someone with experience in pricing and bid day presentations. Your resume should contain these very words when describing your job roles with past employers.
